TX HILL COUNTRY GETAWAY

Reed and I desperately wanted…okay NEEDED a getaway but we didn’t want to go too far, so we decided a sort of staycation was in order. Our house was about to undergo major construction and asbestos abatement so we wanted to just clear our head for a night or two. After searching through pages and pages of google, I found The Getaway House and was immediately hooked.

They’re located all over the country on the outskirts of big cities and consist of tiny cabins tucked away in the woods. It’s camping but more like luxury camping with air conditioning, pretty aesthetic and all the luxuries of a toilet and shower. And a huge plus is that it’s super pet friendly. We booked the stay in April and we had the absolute BEST time. This is far too much information, but I’m 14 weeks pregnant and that trip was exactly 14 weeks ago. You do the math! 😬 I’d say a vacation was exactly what we needed after loss and a while of trying to conceive. I can’t recommend this place enough. The cost is so affordable and it’s is such an experience/adventure for the little ones and your furry friend.

It was also an amazing opportunity for photographs and I had the best time snapping shots. It’s very therapeutic for me to just exercise my creativity with a camera.
