FOODIE FRIDAY: GOUDA + PEAR SANDWICH

Implementing a Foodie Friday STAT on this blog because I miss experimenting in the kitchen. If you follow along on Insta, I talked a little bit about how I’ve been making all sorts of excuses to not cook - mostly because our fixer upper kitchen is under construction right now and I’ve been telling myself it’s not *pretty* enough (insert eye roll). Well enough is enough…all you really need is a skillet and an oven (in my case a mini oven/air fryer) and to give yourself permission to HAVE FUN regardless of the circumstances you’re in. So here we are and first up on my list is this yummy Grilled Gouda + Pear Sandwich that I’ve been craving for a while. I first saw a similar recipe on parents.com and adapted it to more my taste. I hope you enjoy and let me know if you try it.

GRILLED GOUDA + PEAR SAMMIE

Ingredients:

  • English muffin (can substitute with bread, if you prefer)

  • Sliced Gouda Cheese

  • Fresh Bartlett Pear

  • Almond butter

Directions:

  1. Thoroughly wash then thinly slice your Bartlett Pear

  2. Cut English Muffin in half and add sliced Gouda to each half

  3. Layer the pear slices on top of the Gouda

  4. Turn oven to Broil. Cook the layered english muffin halves on broil until cheese is melted and pears are slightly golden. (I like to add the remaining pear slices to the oven to cook a little)

  5. Remove and Enjoy. I garnish the extra pear slices with some almond butter as a side.
